Bulbrite, a Moonachie, N.J.-based manufacturer and supplier of energy-efficient light source solutions, will host a webcast on “LED Basics” today, from noon to 1 p.m. EST.
The webcast will review the benefits of energy-efficient LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and their usage in today’s portable lamps and lighting fixtures. LEDs are semiconductors that convert electrical energy directly into light, using a solid crystal chip. In recent years, high-powered white LEDs have been developed with an output ranging from 40 to 150 lumens each, so they can be used for a variety of retail lighting applications.
According to Bulbrite, LED lighting solutions provide long-lasting, energy-efficient lamping performance, and have a potential lifespan of up to 50,000 hours.
Additional LED Basics Webcasts will be held Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10, 2009.
