Lifeway Gives Away Kefir
Lifeway Foods, Inc. rolled out a Kefir giveaway to mark the launch of its new Web site and the July 4 holiday weekend. Between July 2 and July 5 (or while supplies lasted), consumers could register for a printable coupon for one 32-ounce bottle of Kefir, and will have through today to redeem it at participating locations.
Lifeway’s more interactive and user-friendly site now offers such features as a virtual kefir bar where visitors can create their own kefir concoctions, a larger educational health-and-wellness section that explains the benefits of the company’s probiotics, a kids’ corner, and an updated store locator that helps users easily find the nearest retail location where they can buy kefir and other Lifeway products, as well as allowing retailers to add their stores. The changes represent the first major update to the company’s Web site in more than six years.
“This is the first time we have ever done a promotion like this, and we are very excited to see the consumer response,” noted Julie Smolyansky, CEO of Morton Grove, Ill.-based Lifeway. “Our new Web site is really geared toward providing a large amount of needed information about our products, probiotics, and health and wellness, while at the same time providing a greater connection with our customers and retailers.”
The overhauled site also enables much greater and more frequent interaction with the Lifeway customer community and those interested in learning more about the company’s products, events and promotions, as well as other issues. The Kefir Kommunity blog (found in the Community section) will feature regular posts on these issues, recipes and additional topics. Lifeway also has an active company presence on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook, and disseminates multimedia content via Flickr and YouTube.
