Longo's, Unata Launch Grocery Gateway Mobile

Longo's Fruit Markets and Unata, the Toronto-based digital shopper marketing company, will provide Grocery Gateway and Longo's customers with mobile applications to enhance and personalize their shopping experiences.

Shoppers will be able to order their groceries using the new Grocery Gateway iPhone app or mobile web app, accessible by visiting GroceryGateway.com, allowing shoppers to easily create orders, view previously purchased items, select a delivery time, and securely checkout with any credit card.

"We are excited to be working with Longo's, given their commitment to continuously enhance the relationship with their shoppers," said Chris Bryson, Unata founder & CEO. "By implementing Unata's platform, Longo's is leading the way in the evolution of the retail shopping experience."

Unata's platform connects to a retailer's systems and uses customer data, including transaction history, to deliver an instantly personalized experience to every shopper across any mobile device. It also enables the retailer to send highly targeted offers, for both transactional and non-transactional events, to engage shoppers inside and outside of the store.

As one of the largest independently-owned supermarket chains in Canada, Longo's prides itself on its customer-centric focus. "Our shoppers have been asking for mobile applications to make shopping easier, and we felt the solution provided by Unata which leverages leading edge technology to deliver a personalized experience was the right fit for Longo's," said Ken Kuschei, Longo's director of CRM. "The implementation of our mobile applications brings a new level of service and convenience to our customers across the devices they take wherever they go."

The Grocery Gateway mobile apps are powered by Unata's Shopper Marketing Platform. The launch marks the first phase of a partnership between the two companies; the second phase will focus on using Unata's platform to enhance the in-store shopping experience at Longo's.

Longo's operates 25 stores across the Greater Toronto Area and employs more than 4,400 team members.
