Lunds/Byerly's to Deploy Price Modeling and Optimization Solution

Lund Food Holdings, operator of upscale Lunds and Byerly's grocery stores in the Twin Cities, said it plans to deploy a new price modeling and optimization solution to drive value for its increasingly price-conscious shoppers.

The grocer will use the retail pricing system from Florham Park, N.J.-based KSS Retail.

"We focus on providing a superior shopping experience for our consumers and know that the real-time, self-learning capabilities of the KSS Retail price optimization solution will help us better serve our customers," said Phil Lombardo, v.p. of sales and marketing for Lund. "In the current economic environment, it is more critical than ever to accurately model pricing and promotions that drive consistent consumer value."

Lund Food Holdings operates 21 Lunds and Byerly's supermarkets in and around the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. It joins a host of retailers who have recently deployed the system for price optimization, including Raley's, Cumberland Farms, and United Supermarkets.
