Mann Packing Co. is joining forces with Gourmet Garden to offer members of Curves, the largest fitness franchise in the world, on a cross-promotional offer this January and February in western Canada, during which more than 70,000 handouts will be distributed at Curves locations as part of “Member Appreciation Gift Packs.” The program will consist of four recipes and two coupons, one each for Mann products and Gourmet Garden Herbs & Spices, for a total of over $1.50 in savings.

The four better-for-you recipes, developed especially for weight-conscious consumers, are for roasted sweet potato risotto; butternut squash, arugula and feta pizza; shrimp and basil fettuccini; and vegetable salad with fennel dressing.

“Millions of women are working towards achieving their fitness goals with the 30-minute Curves workout in a supportive, encouraging environment,” noted Lorri Koster, VP of marketing at Salinas, Calif.-based Mann Packing, the top U.S. supplier of fresh-cut vegetables. Koster added that the promotion was designed to zero in on Mann’s “target market,” with the help of “a fresh and wholesome brand, Gourmet Garden …. [W]e want to be part of the support [female consumers] need to reach their goals.”

The category leader in convenience herbs and spices employing its patented EvaFresh technology, Gourmet Garden is a registered trademark of Folsom, Calif.-based Botanical Food Co. The company’s herbs and spices are produced in Australia and distributed worldwide.
