    Southwest regional grocer Market Basket Foods Stores plans to install a price and promotion optimization solution to drive more consumer-centric pricing and promotions.

    The retailer will use the RAPS solution from Sacramento, Calif.-based Revionics, which will be deployed as an augmentation to the Retalix HQ offering already installed at Market Basket.

    “At Market Basket, our goal is to be more customer service-driven while being neighborhood-oriented,” said Skylar Thompson, president of Market Basket. “We selected Revionics for numerous reasons. The personnel at Revionics were very knowledgeable and responsive to our business objectives. We felt like they will be an integral part of our team. Moreover, we were very impressed with the technology and philosophy behind the system.”

    The Revionics offering leverages demand intelligence and integrated forecasting capabilities, which enable price determination for everyday, promotional and markdown pricing. The system supports planning, execution, and the measurement of price strategies and tactics. It will also enable the grocer to forecast the net impact of alternative offers and product mixes within its weekly ads, according to Revionics.

    Headquartered in Nederland, Texas, Market Basket is a locally owned, privately held company with 30 full-service grocery stores located throughout east Texas and Louisiana.
