    Market Street Launches D/FW Mobile App

    Item features weekly ads, recipes, personal shopping lists

    Market Street, an upscale banner of United Supermarkets LLC, has launched the Market Street iPhone application, which will enable members of its “Smart Rewards” loyalty program in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on-the-go access to their account details, including current points, rewards and personalized offers.

    The free downloadable app provides mobile access to weekly ads, product specials, recipes and customizable shopping lists that can be shared via e-mail.

    “Our passion is to deliver ultimate service to our Market Street guests,” said Monica Schierbaum, director of marketing for Lubbock, Texas-based United, who describes the app as “a new way we can deliver ultimate service -- now in a digital environment.”

    Added Schierbaum: “Besides Smart Rewards information, our new app gives all of our guests convenient tools for a personalized shopping experience, like allowing you to place items from our weekly ad or recipes directly on your shopping list, which can then be shared with friends and family members.”

    To access the app, iPhone users can visit the Apple App Store and search keywords “Market Street,” while Android and other smartphone users can get the item by visiting and bookmarking www.marketstreetunited.com/mobile on their mobile devices.

    United also has plans to roll out a mobile app version for its west Texas customers in the near future.

    Family-owned United operates 51 stores in 30 markets across north and west Texas under four distinct formats: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and United Express. A 52nd store -- a fourth-generation Market Street location -- is currently being built in Lubbock.
