Market Street Launches Rewards Program That Gives Shoppers Free Groceries

Market Street yesterday launched a rewards program that gives shoppers the ability to earn free groceries every time they shop over the next eight weeks.

In the loyalty card program, called “Street Smarts Rewards,” Market Street shoppers earn one point for every dollar spent. By accumulating points, members can qualify for up to $100, which can be used to purchase free groceries, specialty items, gourmet foods, fuel and whole-health products.

“Our new Street Smart Rewards program is a simple way to thank our guests for shopping with us,” said Randy Crimmins, VP of marketing for Plano, Texas-based United Supermarkets, LLC, parent company of the upscale Market Street banner. “After our summer-long “Road to Riches Collect and Win Game,” we wanted to head into the back-to-school season by showing our guests that we appreciate them consistently choosing Market Street for their grocery, household and pharmaceutical needs. All they have to do is sign up, shop and earn rewards.”

Participants can earn anywhere from $5 to $100 in Market Street rewards that can be spent on almost anything in the store, including fuel, until Dec. 31. By registering their Street Smarts Rewards card account online, participants automatically receive 75 free bonus points.

“We wanted this to be as easy as possible for our valued guests,” said Crimmins. “What’s simpler than shopping? Every family has to buy groceries on a routine basis. With the Street Smart Rewards program, Market Street guests still receive the same great prices as usual, but this time we’re the putting money back into their pockets.”

Street Smart shoppers can keep track of their current point totals and earned rewards by managing their profiles on the Web site. Additionally, participants can use their online profiles to receive full credit for any purchases made during the eight-week period when they were without their card. Guests can simply log into their online account and enter the required information found on their receipt. Everyone is eligible to participate, and each household can have up to three separate cards tied to one account.

At the end of the promotional period, rewards will be determined based on the total points level reached for purchases made through Oct. 27. Market Street gift cards worth up to $100 will be mailed to the addresses that each Street Smart Rewards cardholder registered upon enrollment.

United Supermarkets operates 50 stores under the banners of United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United.
