Mars Moving Ahead on New HQ Construction
Maryland grocery store chain Mars Supermarkets has chosen Merritt Construction Services to work on its new headquarters office, which will be located at 9627 Philadelphia Road in Rosedale. The grocer plans to move into the 30,000-square-foot site Jan. 15, 2010.
Baltimore-based Merritt was selected for the project in mid-November and has begun converting the one-story flex space into offices, a training facility and meeting space.
Mars, which is currently headquartered in Glen Burnie, Md., operates 16 grocery stores in Maryland and has almost 1,700 employees. The company has a 600,000-square-foot distribution center on East Federal Street in Baltimore.
