MAUI, Hawaii -- As consumption of fresh pineapple increases throughout the nation, Maui Pineapple Co. is making its Maui Gold pineapple available for purchase on the Internet, and has launched a new online promotion to support the program.
Maui Pineapple Co. will use a special promotional tag on over four million Maui Gold pineapples, offering consumers up to a $10 savings when purchasing the pineapple online through Dec. 31, 2007 at MauiPineapple.com. Online shoppers can save $10 on a six-pack or $5 on a two-pack of Maui Gold pineapple by entering the promotional codes at checkout.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for consumers throughout the country to get a taste of Hawaii,” said Howard Nager, Maui Pineapple’s v.p./sales and marketing.
Introduced in 1996, Maui Gold pineapple is a hybrid variety of the fruit developed and harvested only by Maui Pineapple Co. in Hawaii. The company said it has a low acid content and contains three times the Vitamin C of a traditional pineapple.
