Mediterranean Yogurt Bar Makes Big Apple Debut

Top-selling yogurt retailer Chobani debuted its first-ever Mediterranean yogurt bar on July 25 in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Chobani SoHo serves artisanal creations featuring Chobani’s authentic strained Greek yogurt as the primary ingredient, made-to-order by in-house yogurt masters.

“This has been my dream since we first started Chobani in 2005, said Hamdi Ulukaya, president and CEO of Norwich, N.Y.-based Chobani. “I’ve always wanted to bring our brand to life in a new way and deliver a unique experience for our fans. Our goal has always been to make simple, high-quality yogurt available to everyone, and Chobani SoHo will bring us one step closer to making this happen.”

The store’s menu features a collection of non-frozen yogurt-based creations mixed with seasonally inspired gourmet ingredients. Two of the menu items include Toasted Coconut + Pineapple, featuring toasted coconut flakes, fresh pineapple, agave syrup and hazelnuts, and Pistachio + Chocolate, featuring Turkish pistachios, dark chocolate, clover honey, oranges and mint leaves.

Many items are available for takeaway purchase, including signature flavors in 6-ounce or 32-ounce containers, specialty oils and nuts, as well as seasonal fruit.  Also debuting at the SoHo location is Chobani’s exclusive brand of water, Water for Water. One hundred percent of the net profits from each bottle are donated to Shepherd’s Gift Foundation, the charitable extension of Chobani that funds clean drinking water projects.

“This is the first time Chobani fans will be able to experience our brand in a Chobani-owned physical environment, so it was important that the store design, overall experience and specific neighborhood reflect who we are,” said Annette McGuinness, the company’s chief image officer.  "The physical space was crafted to be unique and special like our yogurt, and SoHo was selected because it's authentic, dynamic and global like Chobani is as a company."

Chobani SoHo is located at 150 Prince St. in SoHo, New York.  More information can be found on Chobani’s Facebook page.
