Meijer Designates Parking Lot Spaces for Carpoolers
Meijer Inc. is making it easier for commuters in its home state to rideshare.
Officials from the State of Michigan approached the Grand Rapids-based Meijer with the idea to share some of the parking spaces in its stores' parking lots because the state's existing carpool lots have become over-crowed as gas prices have increased and more commuters are ridesharing, according to local press reports.
Signs are posted on freeways near the new carpool lots, which are located in various parts of the state.
