Meijer Working with Lifestyle Maven Katie Brown<br /><br />
Katie Brown, author, syndicated columnist and host of "Katie Brown Workshop" on PBS, is teaming up with Meijer Inc., to be the supercenter chain's "Home Solutions Advisor."
"Katie Brown brings such an appealing and engaging approach to everything from holiday entertaining to backyard gardening that we felt she was the perfect fit for Meijer," said Dave Clark, Meijer's v.p. of brand and product development.
The celebrity will help develop new product lines for the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based chain, and will also help spearhead programs to offer Meijer shoppers solutions to projects in and around the home.
The Petoskey, Mich., native has been the host of "Katie Brown Workshop" on PBS for the past four years. She was also previously the host of "Next Door With Katie Brown," which aired on the Lifetime network. Her current TV series presents tips and practical advice on gardening, decorating, cooking and entertaining.
"This is a long-term partnership we're undertaking with Katie, and right now, we're looking at a host of areas in which to best utilize her talents," said Clark, noting the possibilities that run the gamut from branded product lines to online programs.
Meijer operates 185 supercenters throughout Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.
