    Milford Valley Selects ‘Art of Chicken’ Contest Winners

    $7,500 in prizes awarded for brand-themed creations

    Milford Valley has named Kim Funk of Mobile, Ala., the $5,000 grand-prize winner of its 2013 “Art of Chicken” photo contest, which invited consumers to use chicken product packaging in unique creations to capture the Milford Valley brand. Funk's shopping cart-themed design (pictured) features a female shopper and miniature Milford Valley chicken entrée packages.

    The cardboard cut-out submission dubbed “Family at the Table” by Vee Lark of Los Angeles won the $2,000 second-place prize; and the $500 third-place honors went to Lennis Mathews of Wauwatosa, Wis., for her incorporation of the Milford valley logo and “film” chicken packaging into a full-size homemade quilt.

    “This was Milford Valley’s first year for the contest, and we’re very pleased with the results,” said Carmen Darland, the brand’s marketing manager. “The creative talent demonstrated by our contestants was amazing.”

    All entries were judged on representation of the Milford Valley brand as well as creativity and originality.
