The Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) will launch its eighth annual “Chocolate Milk: The Official Drink of Halloween” promotion featuring the iconic “Peanuts” gang, running Sept. 15 – Oct. 31.
For the past seven years, MilkPEP’s Halloween feature incentive program has generated impressive results for many retailers with some experiencing an increase in flavored milk sales of as much as 15 percent during the promotional period.
“Every year we see retailers experience an increase in sales of chocolate milk during Halloween proving it is a tremendous opportunity to leverage this occasion and remind moms of the nutritional benefits chocolate milk provides,” said Julia Kadison, VP of marketing for Washington, D.C.-based MilkPEP.
Retailers can sign up by contacting their processor, calling the Milk Hotline at 800-945-MILK or visiting www.gotmilksales.org. In addition to ordering the Halloween POS kit, “Peanuts” logos and assets can be downloaded and used in the retailers’ branded marketing and packaging materials, in-store displays and at sampling events to generate excitement around the promotion.
