MyMenu Departments to Roll Out at Ohio Retailer

MyMenu Inc., a Chicago-based frozen grocery retailer offering hundreds of meals ideas in a single aisle, will introduce MyMenu departments in three The Andersons Store locations. Selling a wide variety of home improvement, general merchandise, outdoor lawn care products, specialty foods and wines, Maumee, Ohio-based The Andersons Inc. operates six retail stores in Ohio. This fall, the MyMenu departments will open in the Toledo, Maumee and Columbus, with further locations to be revealed next year. MyMenu has six corporate stores in Madison, Wis., and Fort Wayne, Ind.

The standalone departments will retain the look and feel of a MyMenu location, with staff on hand to help customers plan quick, easy meals, and offer preparation tips and menu suggestions. Available flash-frozen products will include appetizers, chicken, hand-cut steaks, desserts and party foods.

Buoyed by its success so far, the company has moved into a franchising phase of operations, in addition to pursuing a retail co-branding strategy. MyMenu is now offering unit franchise opportunities in Madison and Fort Wayne, along with area representative opportunities in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Tennessee.

The MyMenu concept is based on that of M&M Meat Shops, which operates 467 stores operate across Canada and is recognized as one of the most successful franchise networks in North America.
