Nash Finch Names Swanson SVP of Retail Ops

Nash Finch Co. has promoted Tom Swanson to senior vice president of retail operations.

Since joining Nash Finch in 2012, Swanson has successfully led Corporate Retail through several key growth initiatives including new store openings, implementation of innovative retail marketing and merchandising programs, execution of a focused Family Fresh Market remodel strategy, and the integration of Bag ‘N Save and No Frills stores into Nash Finch.

As SVP, Swanson will continue to oversee overall Corporate Retail Operations at Nash Finch, including developing and executing on strategic plans, retail marketing strategies, and accountability for corporate store operations and growth.

Prior to joining Nash Finch, Tom spent more than 25 years in various leadership positions at Arizona-based Bashas’ Supermarkets, including leading operations for its 50 Food City markets.

Minneapolis-based Nash-Finch's core businesses include distributing food to military commissaries and independent grocery retailers located in 37 states, the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Azores, Bahrain and Egypt. The company also owns and operates a base of retail stores, primarily supermarkets under the Family Fresh Market, Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, No Frills, Bag 'n Save, Avanza and Sun Mart trade names.
