National Beef Cook-Off Unveils Retailer Display Contest

Beef Checkoff-funded program encourages stores to ‘Fall for Beef’

The Beef Checkoff’s National Beef Cook-Off is asking retailers to join the competition through its “Falling for Beef” retail display contest.

Through Nov. 30, the contest invites individual retail stores to create their own attention-grabbing display using the “Falling for Beef” theme. One top entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000; one second-place entry will receive $500; and one third-place entry will receive $150.

"We want to encourage retailers to get into the competition by creating their own displays that leverage the winning National Beef Cook-Off recipes," said Evelyn Brown, Cook-Off program committee chairman for American National CattleWomen, Inc., a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program. "These recipes are all about appealing to the tastes and techniques of the home cook, which makes them ideal to promote in the retail setting."

Retailer store display contest entries need to incorporate one of the four "Falling for Beef" posters displayed on www.BeefCookOff.org, which are available to individual retail stores by contacting [email protected] or [email protected].

The three winners will be unveiled in December on www.BeefCookOff.org.
