The National Confectioners Association (NCA), together with Candy & Snack TODAY magazine, has opened the nomination period for the 2014 Confectionery Leadership Awards, which enable NCA manufacturers and brokers to honor trade customers who display innovative thought leadership in the confectionery industry.
“The Confectionery Leadership Awards are a key opportunity for members to acknowledge top customers who serve as role models for other retailers and wholesalers,” explained Larry Graham, president of Washington, D.C.-based NCA. “It recognizes those individuals who use their experience to lead their constituents and encourage visionary thinking to drive the entire confectionery category forward.
“Recipients promote category growth with creative merchandising solutions, collaboration with manufacturers, and general confectionery promotion, ultimately advancing its role in the retail environment,” he added.
NCA offers the awards program not just to recognize outstanding customers, but also to encourage deeper customer engagement and support of the confectionery industry. All U.S.-based confectionery retailers and wholesalers from any distribution channel are eligible.
The trade association will accept nominations for the awards through Friday, Oct. 4, with the awards to be presented in Miami at NCA’s annual State of the Industry Conference in March 2014.
