NetSpend Expands Prepaid Network to 8,800-plus New Retailers

AUSTIN, Texas -- NetSpend here, a provider and marketer of prepaid debit cards, said it has expanded its network to include 8,851 new regional and national grocers, convenience stores, and retailers to sell NetSpend Prepaid Reloadable Gift and Travel Cards.

The major expansion comes as a result of NetSpend's relationship with Safeway-owned Blackhawk Network, a card-based financial solutions company and provider of third-party prepaid cards to retailers and nationwide.

Among the grocers carrying NetSpend Gift Cards are A&P; Albertsons; Bashas'; Big Y; Bi-Lo; D'Agostino; Food Lion; Giant Eagle; Haggen Food and Pharmacy; Harveys Supermarkets; Hy-Vee; King Kullen; Kings Super Markets; Minyard Food Stores; Pathmark; Price Chopper; Roundys; Save Mart Supermarkets; Shop 'n Save; Stater Bros.; United Supermarkets; Wakefern; Wegmans; Ahold bannners Giant-Carlisle, Giant-Landover, Stop & Shop, and Tops, and Penn Traffic Company banners BiLo Foods, Quality Markets, and Riverside Markets. Some also offer NetSpend Prepaid Reloadable Cards and Travel Cards.

The issuers of NetSpend Prepaid Cards are Inter National Bank and MetaBank, members FDIC.
