New HQ Address for 7-Eleven Reportedly in the Works

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. could soon be calling the suburbs home.

According to the Dallas Morning News, there is a real estate deal in the works that would put the retailer's corporate headquarters into space at developer Billingsley Cos.' New Cypress Waters community. The office campus is on the north side of the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, just west of Interstate 35.

7-Eleven has had its headquarters in central Dallas for decades and has been in its current 240,000-square-foot home in the downtown Arts District for six years. The possible move was first reported by D Magazine on Thursday, the newspaper added.

Billingsley Co. owns 7-Eleven's current home and, according to Dallas real estate brokers, the deal to move the retailer's corporate offices out of the One Arts Plaza building has quietly been in the works for months.

"7-Eleven wants to get out of downtown," said one broker who is familiar with the deal but asked not to be identified. "They want to get up north where their people live."

The convenience store chain is also hoping to reduce their office costs and have room for future expansion, according to the report.
