New Produce Industry Leaders Set to Helm United Fresh Board
A new slate of officers and directors has been nominated to serve on the United Fresh Produce Association’s board of directors, effective at the trade group’s April 20 meeting.
Jim Lemke, SVP of Eden Prairie, Minn.-based CH Robinson Worldwide, Inc. has been nominated United Fresh chairman, while chairman-elect is Steffanie Smith, CEO of Hermiston, Ore.-based River Point Farms, LLC.
Current board chairman Tom Lovelace, EVP of Columbia, S.C.-based McEntire Produce, will move to the position immediate past chairman and remain on both the board and the executive committee, while Michael Cavallero, president of Dole Food Co.’s North America Tropical Fresh Fruit, will continue to serve an ongoing term as secretary-treasurer.
The following industry leaders have been nominated to serve as new members of the United Fresh Board for a two-year term beginning April 2009:
