    N.G.A. Calls for Creative Choice Award Entries

    The National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) has opened its call for entries for the 2010 Creative Choice Awards, which annually honor outstanding advertising and merchandising campaigns by independent grocery companies from around the country.

    The National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) has opened its call for entries for the 2010 Creative Choice Awards, which annually honor outstanding advertising and merchandising campaigns by independent grocery companies from around the country.

    Participation in the nationally renowned Creative Choice Awards contest will encourage team building and create excitement while demonstrating the importance of using creative advertising and merchandising vehicles to boost sales and build customer loyalty. All participants will have the chance to earn recognition as an industry leader in marketing execution, while winners will receive supplemental recognition at the 2010 Grocers Awards Reception in conjunction with NGA’s Annual Convention at the Paris Hotel Feb. 9 through Feb. 12, 2010, in Las Vegas.

    Retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers/suppliers, food brokers and advertising agencies engaged in the creation and use of advertising and merchandising campaigns may enter on behalf of the retail client. Merchandising events or advertising campaigns held between Dec. 4, 2008, and Dec. 5, 2009, are eligible to enter. All entries must be received on or before Dec. 4, 2009.

    “Best of Show” nominees will be selected from all the category winners in both advertising and merchandising. In addition to receiving the highly regarded “Best of Show” title, winners will receive a grand-prize package including a gift card for a luxury hotel/spa, plus two round-trip airfares to anywhere in the United States, courtesy of the contest sponsors, Unilever and Kellogg Co.

    a panel of distinguished judges will choose the winners based on the following criteria:

    --Creativity: Is the presentation original and does it create impact?
    --Clarity: Is the message clear, compelling and relevant to the target market?
    --Effectiveness: Did the entry deliver measurable results (increased sales, awareness, etc.)?
