    N.G.A. Partners with Digital Marketing Service

    The association and Accelitec to bring “digital wallet” services to members

    The National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) has formed a partnership with Bellingham, Wash.-based Accelitec, Inc. to provide its members with access to the vendor’s "digital wallet" -- a proprietary tool it developed to help independent grocers create campaigns that drive store revenues.

    "Accelitec’s commitment to advancing the business of independent grocers is right in line with our mission and we look forward to working with them to help the competitive profiles of our membership,” said Peter J. Larkin, president and CEO of N.G.A. “We are seeing significant changes in traditional media channels -- decreases in newspaper circulation, fragmented TV viewership - and Accelitec can help our members stay connected and relevant to their customers."

    The Accelitec platform allows retailers to apply and deliver credits, points, money, and targeted promotions to their customers through its patented "digital wallet." According to the vendor, these solutions drive more sales and increase gross profit by improving the bottom line, by increasing trip counts, by increasing basket size, and by reducing traditional media spends.

    "The use of digital communications and social media will continue to have an important bearing on retailer-consumer behavior and our platform facilitates keeping pace with these changes,” said Tom Bartz, CEO of Accelitec. "Helping independent grocers connect with their customers on a digital platform in ways that are relevant to their shopping expectations is the focus of our business."

    N.G.A. is the national trade association representing the retail and wholesale grocers that comprise the independent sector of the food distribution industry.
