DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Pork Board is making available online a niche pork terminology fact sheet and poster for in-store use to help retailers educate consumers and promote niche pork products.
Available at nichepork.org, the terminology fact sheet explains terms such as locally grown, naturally raised and organic.
"As the appeal and demand for niche products continues to grow in the meatcase, retailers may find this fact sheet especially helpful in explaining niche terms and attributes to consumers," said Larry Cizek, the Pork Board's director of culinary/niche marketing development. "The poster can be useful in arming employees with the facts about niche pork, too."
