Noddle, Others Honored at FMI Midwinter Executive Conference

The Food Marketing Institute recognized the achievements of several distinguished figures in the grocery industry yesterday at the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference in Orlando, Fla., including Supervalu, Inc. chairman and c.e.o. Jeff Noddle, who recived the 2009 FMI Herbert Hoover Award for his personal and professional excellence in serving the food retail and wholesale industry.

Also honored was Neil Golub, president and c.e.o. of the Golub Corp., who received the FMI 2009 Glen P. Woodard, Jr., Public Affairs Award, in recognition of his leadership in helping the supermarket industry address important government issues. FMI president and c.e.o. Leslie G. Sarasin presented the awards to both Noddle and Golub.

Additionally, Rich Niemann Sr., chairman of Niemann Foods, received the FMI 2009 Sidney R. Rabb Award for his community involvement and strong advocacy on behalf of the supermarket industry, and Milton Sender, chairman and co-founder of Daymon Worldwide, Inc., received FMI 2009 William H. Albers Industry Relations Award. FMI chairman Steve Smith presented both awards.
