Aldi, Publix, BJ’s Included in Indeed’s Top 5 Hottest Retailers

11/6/2017

Indeed.com, billed as “the world’s No. 1 job site,” has released its list of the 25 most attractive companies for job seekers in 2017, on which food retailers Aldi, Publix Super Markets and BJ’s Wholesale Club were highlighted as the Top 5 Hottest Retailers, coming in first, second and third, respectively. Big Lots and TJ Maxx rounded out the retailer ranking.

To compile its list, Austin, Texas-based Indeed looked at every job for every company on the site from April through September 2017 and calculated the average number of clicks they receive. Then it identified the employers that scored highest above that average for their jobs across five sectors: tech, media/entertainment, retailers, consumer brands and finance.

“Tales of the looming ‘retail apocalypse’ are not hard to find these days, and store closures and bankruptcies are real,” Indeed wrote in the blog revealing its picks for hottest companies. “However, there’s another side to the story: Although some traditional brick-and-mortar stores face rocky times, others are doing very well, and not just in the online realm. In fact, our list of hot companies for retail is dominated by physical stores.”

BJ’s is focused on innovation and growth and providing great careers and development opportunities for team members,” noted Carol Stone, SVP of human resources at Westborough, Mass.-based BJ’s.
