PORTLAND, Maine -- Expo Comida Latina Texas will be held once again in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center, this year on April 23 through April 24.

With over 7 million Latinos residing in the state, Texas has naturally attracted a growing number of Hispanic food and beverage companies, many of which will be in attendance at the event.

"The show is always an exciting time for us, since we are able to introduce our products to new client prospects, congregate with our fellow colleagues, and see what innovative products are out in the market," noted Maria A. Padilla, purchasing and administration director at Texas-based Mama Lycha Foods, which specializes in the manufacture, importation, and distribution of beans, beverage mixes, seeds, and spices.

Other participating Texas companies include Weslaco-based La Abuela Tortilla, which will demo its specialty flour and whole wheat tortillas and Tex-Mex-style wraps, and Conroe-based Victoria Sodas, which offers varieties ranging from sangria to apple.

Also on hand will be such national food retailers as Wal-Mart Stores, Sam's Club, HEB, and Kroger to walk the aisles in search of the newest tastes and authentic flavors.

Presented by Diversified Business Communications, Expo Comida Latina was launched in Los Angeles in 2002 as the first-ever business event for the Hispanic food and beverage market. Expo Comida Latina travels to three markets every year: Los Angeles, New York, and Texas. The first Texas event was in 2005, in San Antonio.

Those interested in attending can register online at http://www.expo-comida-latina.com, or contact Lucila Garcia at (949) 369-6515 for further information.
