    Food Network to Highlight Price Chopper's Connection with Rachael Ray

    SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Celebrity chef Rachael Ray is the subject of a Food Network "Chefography" episode that features her long-term relationship with Price Chopper Supermarkets here.

    The show first aired yesterday and is running through March 25, according to the Food Network.

    Just a few years after joining forces with Price Chopper, local-girl-made-good Ray -- who grew up in Lake George, N.Y.-- has multiple series on the Food Network, a successful magazine called "Every Day with Rachael Ray," over a dozen best-selling cookbooks, and a daily syndicated talk show.

    In the early 2000s, Ray came to Price Chopper Supermarkets with an idea to hold some cooking classes for shoppers and perform food demos in stores. During her time working for the chain, she also wrote her first cookbook, "30 Minute Meals." Currently, Ray appears in TV commercials touting Price Chopper's fresh selection and low prices, as well as offering exclusive recipes on the grocer's Web site.

    The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates more than 115 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Golub's approximately 24,000 associates collectively own 51 percent of the company's privately held stock.
