    Coinstar to Offer Prepaid MasterCards Through Gift Card Malls

    BELLEVUE, Wash. - Retailer 4th Wall solutions provider Coinstar, Inc. yesterday inked an agreement between its subsidiary E-Payment Services Inc. and Charter One Bank, Atlanta, for Coinstar to distribute the Charter One MasterCard Gift Card through Coinstar gift card malls at retail locations nationwide.

    BELLEVUE, Wash. - Retailer 4th Wall solutions provider Coinstar, Inc. yesterday inked an agreement between its subsidiary E-Payment Services Inc. and Charter One Bank, Atlanta, for Coinstar to distribute the Charter One MasterCard Gift Card through Coinstar gift card malls at retail locations nationwide.

    The program, which Coinstar expects to begin Q2, is being facilitated by and through RBS Lynk Incorporated (RBS Lynk), an affiliate of and service provider for Charter One.

    "With the addition of the Charter One Gift Card to our gift card mall, we have enhanced our product portfolio for retailers," said Steve Verleye, s.v.p. and g.m. of E-Payment Services for Coinstar. "After talking to retailers and examining current gift card mall solutions, we believe we have a balanced program that addresses retailer challenges, and drives traffic, sales, and revenue."

    Coinstar's category management process includes inventory control, management of card sourcing, display design, merchandising, and technology integration for point-of-sale. The company's gift card portfolio includes regional and national retail branded gift cards as well as gift cards from online retailers.

    The Charter One MasterCard Gift Card can be used wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted.
