INDIANAPOLIS -- Regional chain Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. here has retained advertising agency Meyer & Wallis as its agency of record for the second time.
Meyer & Wallis, also based here, will pick up where it left off in mid-2006, to once again provide the retailer with strategic counsel, account planning, media planning, and buying -- as well as creative and production services to support Marsh's business plan.
Marsh originally hired Meyer & Wallis in 2003, but the client and agency parted ways in May of 2006, during the final days of the chain's previous Marsh family-led management team. The chain was acquired in September 2006 by an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, a Florida-based investment firm that specializes in leveraged buyouts.
"After reviewing Meyer & Wallis' record with -- and recommended approach for -- Marsh, and knowing of their experience in the supermarket industry, we made the business decision to bring them on board again," said Frank Larazan, chairman, c.e.o., and president of Marsh, in a statement. "The agency has deep roots and experience in our category. They base their counsel and execution on empirical evidence and decades of knowledge of the dynamics of our business. We expect them to be a key player in helping drive our success going forward."
Marsh operates 67 Marsh Supermarkets, 31 LoBill Foods, six O'Malia's Food Markets, and 148 Village Pantry convenience stores in Indiana and Ohio. It also operates Crystal Food Services, a specialist in catering, office coffee, coffee roasting, business cafeteria management, vending, and concessions; Primo Banquet Catering and Conference Centers; Floral Fashions; McNamara Florist; and Enflora Flowers for Business.
