SEATTLE -- Food and cash collected over five days this past December at PCC Natural Markets from KOMO 1000 News Radio listeners and PCC shoppers provided meals to 5,527 families in need, exceeding the partners' goal by 453 percent.
"In just five days we collected 1,612 pounds of food and $3,315 in cash donations," said Laurie Albrecht, PCC’s director of marketing.
Each day of the "Week of Giving," PCC promoted the food drive at a different location. Promotions also included live mentions of the food drive by local broadcast news personalities, and remote radio broadcasts from stores. PCC's Web site and stores also backed the efforts.
