MINNEAPOLIS - The reshuffling of the executive deck at Nash Finch Co. here continues, with the latest additions of Gary Spinazze as v.p./vendor relations, and Tom Strzelczyk as new v.p./food distribution, Great Lakes region.

Both Spinazze and Strzelczyk will report to their former Richfood colleague, Christopher Brown, who is Nash Finch's e.v.p. of food distribution.

Brown said both Spinazze and Strzelczyk will be key members of the Nash Finch management team as the company aims to enhance operations, improve customer service, and strengthen its competitive edge.

Said Brown: "Gary [Spinazze] brings a proven track record of delivering superior results and nearly 40 years of supermarket industry experience, including five years as a merchandising and marketing executive at Nash Finch."

Brown added that Strzelczyk "joins Nash Finch with more than four decades of food industry experience."

Spinazze most recently was director of corporate programs and trade relations for Bozzuto's, a Connecticut-based food distributor, where he worked for the past two years. He held a number of executive positions at Nash Finch from 1999 to 2004, most recently as v.p. of national accounts. Spinazze also held management positions at leading retail and wholesale organizations including Richfood and Roundy's. He graduated magna cum laude from Ottawa University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a B.A. in marketing.

Strzelczyk most recently served as s.v.p./operations for the Schenectady, N.Y.-based Golub Corp. (Price Chopper) from 2004 to 2006. He has also previously held leadership positions with Roundy's, Fleming, and Richfood. He earned both his M.B.A. and B.S. degrees in marketing from DePaul University in Chicago.

Nash Finch serves independent retailers and military commissaries in 31 states, the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Iceland, the Azores, and Honduras. The company also owns and operates a base of retail stores, primarily supermarkets under the Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, and Sun Mart trade names.
