    Cargill's Prexy to Keynote AMI Animal Care/Handling Conf.

    WITCHITA, Kan. -- Tom Hayes, president of Cargill Meat Solutions here, will offer his perspective on translating corporate value into sustained action in his keynote address at the American Meat Institute Foundation's Animal Care and Handling Conference, coming in late March.

    WITCHITA, Kan. -- Tom Hayes, president of Cargill Meat Solutions here, will offer his perspective on translating corporate value into sustained action in his keynote address at the American Meat Institute Foundation's Animal Care and Handling Conference, coming in late March.

    Hayes and his company have been leaders in animal welfare within the meat industry. Hayes currently serves at a commissioner of the National Commission on Industry Farm Animal Production.

    The popular conference, to be held March 29-30, 2007 at the Sheraton Overland Park in Overland Park, Kan, will again feature three distinct tracks - pork, beef, and management and policy.

    Dr. Temple Grandin, associate professor at of Colorado State University, will again be a featured speaker in both the beef and pork tracks, along with Collette Schultz-Kaster, Premium Standard Farms; Jeff Hill, Premium Standard Farms; Brad Morgan, Oklahoma State University; Richard Hall, Bob Evans Farms; Matthew Ritter, Elanco Animal Health; Erik Risa, National Pork Board; Jodi Steiner, XL Foods, Ltd., Canada; and, Dan Klaus, American Foods Group/Green Bay.
