MEXICO CITY, Mexico -- Mexican supermarket chain Gigante, which operates more than 200 retail food outlets throughout the country, plans to install price and promotion optimization software to more accurately model the impact of pricing and promotional decisions and their effect on category and across category sales and profits.
The retailer selected PriceStrat from KSS, Florham Park, N.J.
"Price modeling, optimization, and forecasting is something that will add tremendous value to our operations," said Alejandro Ahuad, commercial director of Gigante. "KSS PriceStrat will provide our merchandising team with the ability to accurately forecast and evaluate the effects of our pricing and promotional decisions, before we implement them. This insight will allow us to work more closely with our suppliers to make sure we are delivering strong value to our consumers while achieving our company's financial goals."
