BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- The higher-level marketing ranks at Wal-Mart retail operations have been hard hit of late. Shortly after the jettisoning of Wal-Mart top marketing executive Julie Roehm, Sam's Club's Mark Goodman, e.v.p. of marketing, membership, and e-commerce, has now left that chain.
Wal-Mart said the executive, a former McDonald's marketing wiz, left "to pursue other interests."
Goodman was with the club chain just 14 months. "During Mark's time with Sam's Club, he contributed important new ideas to our marketing efforts and has helped move us toward becoming a more member-driven organization," said a Wal-Mart spokeswoman in a statement.
