LONDON – Dunnhumby Limited, a provider of consumer-centric marketing solutions for leading consumer packaged goods and retail companies, including Kroger and Tesco, yesterday entered into a long-term joint venture agreement with Groupe Casino, the France-based global retailer with more than 8,000 stores worldwide.
Known as dunnhumbyFrance, the joint venture business will draw on existing data from Groupe Casino’s loyalty card programs to provide insight for decisions around customer strategy, customer segmentation, pricing, promotion, and product ranges, the partners said.
“The joint venture with Groupe Casino not only expands our global reach, but will allow consumer packaged goods companies to understand the differences in consumer behavior around the world,” said Simon Hay, c.e.o. of dunnhumbyUSA.
Following the models which currently exist with dunnhumbyUSA’s joint venture with Kroger and its joint venture in the UK with Tesco, the customer insights from the Groupe Casino database will become available to grocery suppliers to help them better understand their own customers.
Groupe Casino operates 7,000 stores in France, and 1,000 locations in North America, Latin America and Asia.
