    SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Supermarket Guru and PG contributor Phil Lempert has revised his online product rating system to help consumers make better food choices.

    SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Supermarket Guru and PG contributor Phil Lempert has revised his online product rating system to help consumers make better food choices.

    "With so many new products, it's hard for shoppers to keep track and try every one," noted Lempert. "That's what we're here for. The 'New Product Taste Tests & Reviews' section has become one of the most popular on our site, and with the new improvements, we anticipate even more traffic and consumer participation."

    For almost a decade, Lempert and his readers have labeled thousands of products either a "Hit or Miss." Now Lempert will test and judge each product according to seven specific criteria: taste, value, health, ingredients, preparation, appearance, and packaging. On a 100-point scale, items that score an 85 or above are considered a "hit" and those that receive 95 and above are "rising stars."

    Lempert has also added new features to the SupermarketGuru.com recipe section. Now with a pull-down menu to locate specific types of foods, the section has been updated to include nutritional value with each recipe so visitors can make better dietary choices. Lempert has additionally consolidated the recipe sections from his various newsletters to one area on the site.

    Founded in 1994 by Lempert, www.SupermarketGuru.com is an interactive online resource providing consumers with food safety, products, trends and shopping tips.
