HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- The National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers (NASFM) yesterday began accepting entries for its 36th Annual Retail Design Awards, which recognizes individual store fixture design and manufacturing.

Retailers, designers, architects, and suppliers of store fixture and visual presentation products can submit projects completed between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2006. Entries may be submitted for new or remodeled supermarkets, department and specialty stores, shops, service retailers, restaurants, store fixtures, and visual presentations.

Each submission will be judged by a panel of retail designers, store planners, and design editors. Awards are based on excellence in design, originality in the use of space and fixtures, and quality in executing the concept.

Awards will be presented at the end of the first day of GlobalShop in Las Vegas. Top honors are awarded to one "Fixture of the Year" and one "Store of the Year." Grand Prizes and Outstanding Merits will be designated in each store category, and multiple Store Fixture Awards and Visual Presentation Awards will be recognized.

To accommodate earlier GlobalShop dates, entry deadlines have been moved up to Dec. 1, 2006 (early bird) and Dec. 15, 2006 (final). Entries can be submitted online at www.retailfix.com/awards_overview.cfm, or by calling (954) 893-7300, ext. 21.
