    Technology Track to Be Offered at 2006 Fresh Summit

    NEWARK, Del. ¿ The Produce Marketing Association here will offer a track of workshops to discuss the ever-evolving impact technology will have on the produce supply chain, during its 2006 Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition at the San Diego Conference Center next month.

    NEWARK, Del. – The Produce Marketing Association here will offer a track of workshops to discuss the ever-evolving impact technology will have on the produce supply chain, during its 2006 Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition at the San Diego Conference Center next month.

    The track includes the workshop "Need Directions on Supply Chain Technology? Get the Roadmap." This two-hour session will feature a panel of key retailers discussing implementation strategies and the reactions from progressive produce suppliers.

    Another workshop is "Making Web 2.0 Work for You." The 45-minute session centers on how to use Web sites as a platform for conducting market research, releasing new products, and creating buzz around upcoming launches.

    "We're always on the lookout for new technological advances that can be implemented in the produce industry supply chain and ways to present this information to PMA members in an informative fashion," said Gary Fleming, PMA's v.p. of industry technology and standards. "The workshops are a great vehicle to get this sort of information in front of the key decision-making industry professionals that attend Fresh Summit every year."
