PHOENIX -- Sprouts Farmers Market, a farmers' market-style grocer based here, plans to open up to 30 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to published reports. No time frame was mentioned.
Sprouts has been operating stores in the Dallas-Forth Worth area for a year. Sprouts owner Kevin Easler was quoted as saying that the stores are performing above the company's expectations. He said the company's target customer is "in line with conventional grocery customers."
Sprouts' stores are on average 35,000 square feet. They include organic and non-organic produce, bakery, bulk foods, fresh meats, and vitamins and supplements.
Besides the Dallas area stores, Sprouts operates 13 stores in Arizona and two in California.
