    CM Packaging Acquires Stone Plastics

    LAKE ZURICH, Ill. -- CM Packaging based here, a division of C.M. Products, Inc., has acquired Cadiz, Ky.-based Stone Plastics, Inc., which is ranked among the top 50 thermoformers of custom and stock products in North America.

    LAKE ZURICH, Ill. -- CM Packaging based here, a division of C.M. Products, Inc., has acquired Cadiz, Ky.-based Stone Plastics, Inc., which is ranked among the top 50 thermoformers of custom and stock products in North America.

    Stone produces plastic packaging and containers primarily for the baking, fresh, and frozen food, fresh-cut, and produce industries. The Cadiz plant employs approximately 100 people and manufactures its plastic products from PET, OPS, PS, PP, HIPS, and PLA resins and has over 140,000-square-feet of production and warehouse space.

    Mark Faber, CM Packaging president and c.e.o., said, "Stone's existing management team, headed by Joe Stone, will remain in place.     CM Packaging is one of the premier manufacturers of aluminum foil packaging and plastic containers serving the baking, custom, fresh and frozen food and fresh-cut and bulk produce industries. Among the company's most popular products are Bake King, Bio7PLA, ClearLock, Cater King, PDI, and now Stone containers.

    Its parent company, Chicago Metallic Products, Inc., was established in 1898 in Chicago and is now headquartered in suburban Lake Zurich, Ill. Other facilities are located in Central Islip, N.Y., City of Industry, Calif., Gladwin, Mich., Miami, Fla., and Cadiz, KY.
