MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu has tapped Chicago-based online exposition services provider InXpo to produce its fall eFood Show, which will be designed to complement the content and e-commerce offerings available through its SVHarbor Web portal.
The portal was developed for Supervalu customers, employees, and partners to securely access information, applications, and other services, the leading retailerwholesaler said.
"Supervalu is venturing into online events because they offer great convenience and cost efficiencies to all of our customers, the exhibitors who staff the shows and the retailers who purchase products," said Michael J. Terpkosh, director of category management development for Supervalu. "InXpo has deep knowledge of the distribution industry, and we are confident that our customers will have an enjoyable and productive experience when they attend Supervalu's first online show later this year."
InXpo's online expo features a show order entry system that allows a distributor's customers to place orders, and provides real-time sales reporting which allows the distributor to see all orders placed by their customers at anytime. The distributor can then use the online show's communication tools to interact with customers.
The vendor currently has existing partnerships with grocery distribution companies C&S Wholesalers, Associated Grocers, and Tree of Life.
