    Price Chopper Holds Connecticut-wide Search for Child Singers

    SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Price Chopper, based here, is sponsoring a singing contest throughout Connecticut for aspiring performers ages 10 to 16. The winner will sing live at Quassy Lakeside Theatre in Middlebury, Conn. next month as an opening act for Connecticut-based band Kick.

    SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Price Chopper, based here, is sponsoring a singing contest throughout Connecticut for aspiring performers ages 10 to 16. The winner will sing live at Quassy Lakeside Theatre in Middlebury, Conn. next month as an opening act for Connecticut-based band Kick.

    Auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 12 at the Price Chopper in Torrington and on July 19 at the chain' store in Waterbury, with two further auditions scheduled to take place in Vernon and Newington. Auditions have already been held in Bristol and Southington.

    One runner-up will be chosen from each Price Chopper store audition to be a junior radio announcer on 96.5 WTIC FM in Hartford, Conn. Audition contestants will also be eligible for a range of prizes.
