EATON, Ohio -- Henny Penny here, a worldwide developer, manufacturer, and distributor of foodservice equipment, has embarked on a project to streamline production, reduce inventory costs, and boost output through new technology.

The supplier said it has selected Information Builders and its subsidiary, iWay Software, to build its new systems.

"We needed true Web-based development capabilities and a reporting architecture that could support a worldwide user base in a cost-effective way," said Don Garland, information systems development manager at Henny Penny. "More importantly, we needed a versatile back-end infrastructure for accessing and combining different types of data in real time from their production systems."

Information Builders worked with Henny Penny to implement the WebFOCUS Business Intelligence Dashboard and Developer Studio, which include a complete back-end environment for data access, integration, and event monitoring. Henny Penny is also now using iWay Software's adapters to join data sources directly without having to stage data to separate reporting files, completely eliminating the lag time for accessing crucial production information.

Henny Penny Corp. offers a wide range of high quality foodservice equipment designed for easier operation, greater flexibility and lower operating costs. Product lines include pressure and open fryers, combis, rotisseries, holding cabinets, display merchandisers, and blast chiller/freezers.
