SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Golub Corp.'s Price Chopper Supermarkets here said yesterday it promoted David Golub to the position of v.p. of store operations, reporting directly to s.v.p. and general manager Connecticut Dave Hepfinger. Golub replaces Tom Strzelczyk, who left Price Chopper to pursue other opportunities.
In his new role, Golub will oversee all store operations for the Northeast regional chain. Since joining Price Chopper in 1977, he has served in many capacities at the company, most recently as v.p. of administration operations. He is a second cousin to president and c.e.o. Neil Golub and the son of chairman Lewis Golub.
The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates more than 100 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Golub employs more than 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of the company's privately held stock.
