IRVINE, Calif. -- The California Avocado Commission (CAC) here and Sutter Home Winery are joining forces to help consumers Build a Better Burger via a recipe contest for a chance to win up to $50,000 in cash.
For the third consecutive year, CAC is an official sponsor of Build a Better Burger, which encourages home cooks to bring the delicious taste of fresh California avocados to their grills and tables this summer.
"We are thrilled to join Sutter Home Winery in sponsoring the popular Build a Better Burger Recipe contest again this year," said Jan DeLyser, CAC's v.p. of marketing. "We also are excited to announce the launch of our updated Build a Better Burger Web site which will promote consumer interest in the contest and awareness and consumption of delicious fresh California avocados this summer season."
In addition to providing important information about the recipe contest, the Commission's Build a Better Burger Web site (www.avocado.org/bbb) will provide consumers with simple and delicious summer barbeque recipe ideas highlighting fresh California avocados. Also featured on the easy-to-navigate Web site will be helpful grilling tips, suggested burger/wine pairings and entertaining ideas, including party themes, hosting tips and summer backyard game ideas. The Web site will go live on June 6.
"To supplement Sutter Home Winery's comprehensive Build a Better Burger ad campaign, we will promote the commission's contest-related Web site with a full schedule of Pay-Per-Click advertising on Google and Yahoo, as well as with a direct-blast recipe email to members of our California Avocado Recipe Club," continued DeLyser.
