HARTFORD, Conn. -- Runners who participate in the 2006 United Technologies Greater Hartford Marathon here will find a 100 percent organic food menu waiting for them when they cross the finish line, thanks to Boulder, Colo.-based Wild Oats Natural Marketplace.
Runners will be treated to organic foods including spinach orzo salad, rice and beans, fair trade bananas, and yogurt -- all free of charge.
"Part of Wild Oats' mission is to provide people with products and information that support health and well being," said Kristen Woronoff, city marketing manager for Wild Oats Markets. "We're proud to provide a variety of tasty organic food to the thousands of runners who will be looking for healthy foods."
