    HEB Stores Participating in Severe Weather Safety Campaign

    SAN ANTONIO -- Regional retailer H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here is joining forces with KXAN, a local NBC affiliate, and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) to bring Midland Radio Corporation's NOAA All-Hazards Radios to central Texas.

    SAN ANTONIO -- Regional retailer H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here is joining forces with KXAN, a local NBC affiliate, and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) to bring Midland Radio Corporation's NOAA All-Hazards Radios to central Texas.

    The NOAA All-Hazard Radios are now available for purchase at HEB locations for $29.99, according to an article posted on KXAN's Web site. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local community organizations.

    NOAA All-Hazards radios provide information on civil emergencies such as Amber alerts and chemical spills, along with severe weather alerts for tornadoes, flash flooding, and more. They're used by the Department of Homeland Security to broadcast warnings related to national emergencies and other Homeland Security issues.
