    Winn-Dixie and Major Creditor Come to Agreement

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bankrupt grocer Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. here has settled a long-running creditor dispute with local utility company JEA, the Business Journal of Jacksonville reports.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bankrupt grocer Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. here has settled a long-running creditor dispute with local utility company JEA, the Business Journal of Jacksonville reports.

    The two companies have agreed to amended service agreements. The motions were approved yesterday at the U.S. Middle District of Florida bankruptcy court.

    Under the deal JEA will continue to bill Winn-Dixie under volume pricing terms similar to the companies' prebankruptcy filing contract, and Winn-Dixie will pay $583,000 to satisfy its outstanding prepetition debts with JEA.

    Winn-Dixie and JEA had been in negotiations for more than a year over the matter.

    Also yesterday, the bankruptcy judge approved the expansion of services for several of Winn-Dixie's professional firms, including Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, LLP and Deloitte Consulting, LLP.
